The Xpulse Pro becomes a vital part of search and rescue
We stopped by Clifton Autos Motorcycle Centre in Belfast this week and were delighted to see the Hero Xpulse Pro 200 being put to such an important use.
The bike has been specially adapted for a Search and Rescue charity supporting Police Service Primary Responders in Northern Ireland, helping to locate high-risk, missing and vulnerable people across the region.
Dominic McIlory, Unit Commander in Belfast, kindly showed us around the bike and explained more about the team’s vital work. Leading a team of 30 volunteers, the Belfast Unit is one of the busiest search teams in the UK, responding to more than 400 callouts each year.
The unit also provides 24/7 rescue cover on the River Lagan, 365 days a year, with more than 25 emergency launches already carried out this year. Alongside this, the team has operated Lagan Safety Patrols every Friday and Saturday night since 2012.
